Ashmitha is an Assistant Risk Assessment Scientist with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the University of Washington. Her primary areas of academic training include occupational safety, chemical sampling & analysis, environmental toxicology, and risk assessment. Ashmitha’s work at Insight has included reviewing materials to understand occupational and consumer chemical exposure scenarios and performing research to assess the associated risk of disease. Her key research efforts have included reviewing toxicological data to determine the carcinogenicity of various asbestos fiber lengths and types, performing a literature search to assess exposures associated with the use of cosmetic and industrial talc, and conducting literature reviews to determine the toxicity of heavy metals. Ashmitha is also involved in Total Worker Health research to investigate methods for measuring cumulative exposures and understand how work environments can influence stress levels.
